We shelled out more than $6,000 and in a whole year, our test scores only went up by 10 points. This program feels like a total scam. The one-on-one sessions don’t really help boost scores at all. My daughter is a solid 4+ student, so trust me, don’t throw your cash away like we did.

I had a tough time figuring out a good rhythm and strategy for tackling the SAT. There were moments when I got stuck on certain questions and realized I was wasting time on stuff that sounded complicated but could actually be handled in a simpler way. My tutor quickly pinpointed where I needed assistance and customized her methods to suit me. After just 10 hours, I boosted my score by 140 points. We've had a fantastic experience with Applerouth. Two of our kids have worked with a tutor from Applerouth to get ready for the SAT and ACT. My son got paired up with Tal Kitron, whose patience is just legendary. Being a UK resident and not really knowing much about the US SAT format, plus having a teenager who prefers to do the bare minimum, Tal was just the right fit to spark some motivation in my son. However, there’s one thing that’s a bit annoying: you can’t apply your paid sessions to any tutoring type. I bought a package over the summer that included 2 free sessions, but I was informed that those sessions can’t be used for test prep. My son is excelling in all his classes, so I’d like to use my funds for PSAT or SSAT prep, but that’s not an option. This policy might need a second look so that happy parents don’t turn into frustrated ones.

I’m really pleased with the tutoring from Applerouth, especially my son’s tutor, Jeff Freud. From the very first session, my son took a liking to Jeff. He connected with him in a way that made learning enjoyable and packed a ton of knowledge into a brief period, particularly about preparing for the ACT. We were amazed and overjoyed to see my son boost his ACT score by 7 points, all thanks to Jeff! Definitely worth the investment. I highly suggest giving them a try!
